Maybe this will work: [url="http://img109.echo.cx/my.php?image=frasiertake29qo.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img109.echo.cx/img109/2281/frasiertake29qo.jpg" border="0" alt="Free Image Hosting at https://www.ImageShack.us" />[/url] Okay, image shack isn't working but it was the Frasier lion "father of the year" bar.

I have a small collection, I've gotten a few Happy Birthday ones from my dad, and I seem to remember getting one from Catman too! I've told this story before but not on this forum- my mom and dad had shoeboxes full of silver bars that they decided to sell off during the early 80's silver boom. They kept a few that were their favorites, but the rest went to the coin shop. I think Dad said he paid about $5 each for the bars- you can imagine the killing they made when they sold them! I suppose you could call it that,, I went thru a couple of months of a semi depression , My collection wasnt advancing as I wanted it to, my relationship with my wife was suffering, my energy level was low(if you knew me this was way off ) My mental out look was dark !! My job was making me crazy !!
I have hopefully regained control of the spiral !!!

Welcome back to the fold Metalman. If you have any questions about collecting bars or where to get them you can always ask Longnine or I. We always welcome new people to this area of collecting. There are a few of us who are active. catman

Metalman,
There is a book on Silver Bars available that shows most of the bars that were issued in the 1970s and 1980's. I think it can be purchased thru the silver bar collector's club.
I will send you the name of a dealer, off line, who deals in a lot of anmial type silver bars and rounds.

I have a Dansco album with blank pages for both rounds and bars. My interest is diverse: items that pertain to Chicago, bison, or railroads are most prevalent. I also have some foreign silver that just doesn't fit with the more mainstream aspects of my collection residing there. And, as has been pointed out, any dates or subjects that catch my eye can find their way inside.

Hey Crew!!! The summer of 1973 was awesome. Stationed in California, 1970 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler, 429 4 speed, bright orange with a black wing and giant sidestripe, 1972 KZ500,3 cyclinder Kawasaki, also Bright Orange, working midnights, every day off to the beachs and hills south of San Francisco..... Oh well, that ws my best summer, until my Daughter was born. Ten years later, summer of 1983, at the beach in Chicago with my Wife and 1& 1/2 year old daughter, driving a 1971 beater Dodge 4 door (managed to still have the 1971 FLH H.D) no money, and thinking how much better it was than the summer of "73"! Mike.....70-75 were all "endless summers"......
