Quote: The shipping cost kills it IMO. I was thinking the same thing. $28.50 for the ASE + $12.95 for shipping. Of course I can't buy just one because they have a $50 minimum order. No thanks!

High jacking this thread... .. Tube of 25 Silver Maples just slipped under the $700 mark to CA$ 699.69 at SGB. So about $28 CA each I guess the Premiums are coming back down...

Thanks for the heads up. Not often is APMEX cheaper than Provident.

Quote:Not often is APMEX cheaper than Provident. I know, really! As for shipping, I agree it doesn't make much sense to buy a single ASE from APMEX (or most other places, for that matter). But if you're looking to buy, say, a tube of 20, now might be the best time.

Tube of 20 x 1 oz Buffalo Silver Rounds CA$ 518.78 which works out to $25.94 CA each. There are not ASEs or Mapleleafs but still silver. I dont think I want any but it is about the cheapest rounds I have seen atm here in Canada. http://silvergoldbull.com/silver-bu...silver-round

I you want 1 a LCS or ebay is probably best. But some locales charge sales tax on small metals purchases.

You forget to add shipping which makes SGB prices ok at best

Ya they all charge shipping so no point adding it unless you can get free shipping or live next door to the dealer/company, even if you have to drive to the dealer your going to pay for the fuel in your car to get there, plus a coffee/donuts or a meal while your on the little car drive. Dont forget about the parking as well, there's a few bucks depending on where you live. I don't mind paying the shipping as it comes right to my house, don't even have to start up the car lol. For a few small items it cost $12 express and insured, larger items like a few tubes or more cost $25 express/insured right to my door. Also I never said SGB was the best on ASE or Mapleleafs , was just posting their prices atm. The buffalos are a good price if you don't mind generic rounds.

I don't mind paying for shipping either since when a company advertises "free shipping" it just means that the price of shipping is factored into the cost of the product. When I buy an item I consider the total price including shipping. I do think that a minimum shipping charge of $12.95 is crazy expensive. An USPS small flat rate box is only $5.15 and that is my rate as a small ebay seller.

Well if I have 2 1oz gold coins shipped to me then I don't mind paying the $12 for express/signature required and insurance plus tracking. I don't know what the $5.15 flat rate box from usps includes but if its not insured and signature is not required then I wouldn't use it, well maybe for something under $100 I guess.

The flat rate box has tracking and very rarely has problems. For 2 dollars more you can have signature. The part that angers most people about the Amex shipping is the 5.15 flat rate box is exactly what APMEX uses on small orders and they dont insure it or put a signature on it but still charge you 13 dollars to ship it.

Well I don't have to worry about ordering from APMEX, here is one reason why I wont be: 8. What are the shipping costs for Canada? Our shipping charges to Canada are $34.95 USD plus an additional $0.15 USD per troy ounce weight surcharge. Currently, all of our shipments to Canada are shipped FedEx International Economy and must be shipped to a physical address. Additionally, customers living outside of FedEx' normal delivery zones may incur an Extended Area Surcharge.

I'll agree with that, shipping to Canada is a real pain in the butt.
