I don't see any values for a 46 DDO, I was going straight up 46.

FTB,
Very nice pick up!
For what it's worth, CPG has it valued at $70.00 in MS 60.- 5th Edition, Vol 2- Pg 279.

Wow I have got to know what makes this coin worth 150 dollars. It will only bring melt value and maybe not even that. If it was a DD it would be on the back, but it's NOT.

Thanks for the info Chuck, however I don't think CPG realizes how rare these are in higher grades. 4 known MS examples (5 if you include my recent unattributed pick), compared to, say, the '46 DDR, which has something like 100+ MS examples known at PCGS alone. I think as more people start to take an interest in WLH varieties, this will start to become more valuable. JS, this is the doubled die obverse... I've already turned down an offer of $100 for this coin. Here's the major PUP's off another example (XF-AU) I own.

Quote: Good luck with that. Nice attitude given that I was attempting to share something about the variety with you. As I've said, I already turned down a $100 offer from somebody who owns a PCGS AU53 right now, and wanted this for an upgrade to his set. Part of your inability to understand the price/value of the coin is the simple fact that you cannot grade the coin from my photographs as you're not used to seeing them. It is not XF. It is easily AU, and more than likely a 55-58, as I have stated earlier. It does carry the burden of being a slightly weak strike compared to many other '46's, but the lack of a quality strike doesn't drop a coin from AU to XF. Here is the original ebay photo I cherried the coin with. Perhaps this will give you a better idea of the luster the coin has.

$150 for an actual doubled die? Go for it.
I'm personally not sure that's what it is though (where I can see doubling where you're pointing it out, I'm not seeing any doubling in other places I would expect it). However, I have next to nil experience with doubled dies in this series. I've simply not researched them.
I just like Walkers. There.. I said it. And that one is in great shape. :-)

Its a cherrpickers variety for what its worth... given the same exact doubling exists in the same exact spots on multiple examples, there really isn't any other logical explanation besides a DD.
I will post some pics of the .MS64 when it comes in probably Friday.

That MS64 I was talking about? It's basically been sold for $250 and the buyer is "THRILLED" with the price. Meaning I probably could have asked for $350-$400.
