very nice purchase! I see this one as a textbook MS-63. From PCI they may have given it a 64 but I don think it would cross to PCGS or NGC at 64.

The toning is nice, but I don't think it would add any premium. I actually prefer my Morgan's toned, and often pay a premium on them, but they have to have super appeal to get a premuim. Although this one is definitely nice, it's not "amazingly" toned... I think the ones that bring a premium, (for me at least) are more rainbow, or colors other than gold, like blues, reds, purple and such.

Still a nice purchase though! I'd be quite happy with it if I were you!

I'd say PCI said MS64 maybe added a comment about the nice toning

I think the coin is really MS63 at best the coin is weakly struck and has a bunch of makrs, but the toning helps this one tremendously and I'd bet it looks better in hand than the photo shows.

I tried to upload some better pics. The coin looks a lot better in hand. Still not good at pic taking. I need a better camera. For a New Orleans from this time period I don't think the streak is as bad as another mint. Yes, it is weak but I have seen a lot weaker on New Orlean mint coins from the early 1880's and really through the whole series. Thank you all very much for the feedback though. I will give it a bit longer to make sure everyone that wants to chime in has and I will post what grade PCI gave it.

Looking at that reverse again, actually make me a 63.

PCI probably gave it a 64, looks like a 62 though.

Here is what they gave it

You-Vs.-PCI-1884-O-Morgan-Toner-Better-Pictures

Most of you were around that or thought that.

I actually had to sell it already. On the way back from the show I got a speeding ticket, and I need to liquify some money since the first of the month is also coming for other bills. I sold her for $60 and I paid $50 for her. I liked her, but the money is more important right now and I could pass on a $10 gain.

@brenpickle I like this coin as a 63 ish, and I found out there are more than 3 generations of PCI slabs....here's a link to that discussion https://goccf.com/t/146548

I guess the key is to look at the 6's on the slabs
