Thanks SPP-Ottawa, I really like the "Victory" nickel & was never aware of the medallion or this set.

I have that bronze coin out of the 2005 set, and that specimen finish with that colour on that size of a coin is AMAZING!

I have been wanting the 2008 Edward VIII for ages, just got it in the mail, it's stunning. Is anyone elses medal loose in the capsule?

I don't get why Edward was the only monarch in the series to get a medal instead of a coin, and is in bronze, not silver.

I believe it is a medal, not coin, because the effigy didn't have a chance to be used on any coin before Edward VIII's abdication. And this medal is an RCM product, it is the free gift RCM gave to those who finished the Vignette of Royalty subscription.

This is the note that comes with the bonus King Edward VIII medallion.

Wow Shopaholic, that might be my favorite CC post ever! I just ordered this medal myself after wanting it for as long as I have been seriously collecting, and it's something I treasure. I love the story, I love the intrigue, and I love the medal!
