A while back, I started collecting silver 2, 1, and 1/2 Swiss francs.
Trying to fill up all the years.

We are in the bullion form so as fas a bullion collected I'm into maples, Canadian wild life series, I've got bear, moose (meese?), prong horns, and bison. Also some Libertads, one bu ASE. Pan AM bars.
Question: has anyone tried buying second hand jewelry on sites like KIJIJI. THe pawn shops seem to focus on this

I've seen it all, you can now buy an "Old Man" silver round from the pawn stars show. I looked on ebay to confirm, there it was. I'll take a pass.

I've been mainly in the bullion buying mode for as close to spot as possible. With spot under $20 it is hard to resist.

About those PawnStars "Old Man" TTTT's (Trashy Tourist Trap Trinkets)...

There was thread in another PM-related forum recently about those things. Somebody who had one of them had been inspired by an episode of that brain
cell-killing show where a couple of the fat guys shot one of the OM rounds with a rifle they had just acquired. The inspired guy took his OM round out behind
the back barn, shot it and posted the picture. He was very carefully understated with his choice of words (possible lawsuits and all that never being too far
away), but the picture looked for all the world like the bullet had peeled a silver external layer back and revealed a non-silver core.

Just out of curiosity---has anybody ever personally tested those things and personally obtained unarguable verification that they are in fact solid .999 silver?

Why is no one purchasing bars?

I'm new to this so forgive my ignorance, I am looking to take a position 100oz or slightly above in a short amount of time.

I see a lot of people filling in sets and desirable items but for pure bullion purposes are bars best?

The bars vs rounds vs coins quandary is older than dirt and has been worked over many times in other threads here. Most bar stackers don't spend much time
posting about their latest buys---you very rarely see posts like "I just got another 10oz NTR bar." This thread is pretty much about the fancier, "semi-numis"
type coins, but that doesn't mean that stacking bars is rare. It's a major portion of PM sales, but just not the subject of much discussion.

Well, in a short time my focus has gone from MS69 Eagles to PF69 silver State Quarters, about half way there with them too. Anybody know a good, reliable cure for ADD?

I understand and apologize if my post is in the wrong forum, maybe a mod can move it, I'm just trying to gain some knowledge I don't have, and yes I agree how many times is it new news that one says hey! I added another boring bar to my stack.

You're in the right forum, no apology is needed and I didn't mean for my post to be taken as a "go away" message or anything like that. PM sent.

My bullion broker told me rounds way outsell bars simply because they're easier to store/stack. Otherwise, silver is silver, not counting different mint mark premiums.

I have submitted a bid for $1,500, in a major public auction, for an ancient Greek gold stater, circa 90 B.C., of Lysimachos, of Macedon.
I am rather dispassionate about such bidding, UNLESS I am successful. If I am, THEN I get excited. If I am not, well, I have saved myself $1,500, (plus buyer's fee 16.5%).
