couldn't help the quick flip guys...
I went to the coin store in St. Jacobs Ontario and boy was I mad.
There was 4 people working and 5 people there when I arrived, the staff helped all the older adults and seniors with their coins, once someone was free, he sat down and stared at me.
My girlfriend looks at me and says "really? why aren't they helping you? - one answer... I'm young
i was there for 20 minutes looking and not once did someone offer to help me. I noticed they had 4 glass butterflies for $350.00 each (super inflated prices) - so I said "if I had one of those how much would you offer me? just curious"
a staff member says "oh $200.00 but they are super rare and it would be impossible for you to have one, you probably have the 25 cent version"
i pulled it out of my girlfriends purse and this man ate his words. $50.00 profit in 2 days and I will never visit this store again.

Definitely super inflated price. $350 for butterfly? I would gladly sell mine at discount for $250 :)

That picture is one that I took of one of my coins and sent it into CCF to have it put in my avatar.

Is this glass butterfly coin the last one in the series? Or we will have 1 more?

^^ on the mint site it states "This is the third coin of a much sought-after series featuring hand-crafted Venetian glass insects" my guess is they will make a last one due it's popularity.

FYI, COA #0001 is on ebay right now for a BIN of $700. I'm watching it just for fun. As for 4th coin...the only reason I could think of that they might not do another is lack of supply of Venetian glass bugs.

Why stop at just 4? Especially when there are so many more bugs out there? The Millipede and Milkweed! The Dung Beetle and Daisy!

I had heard that there will be a glass coin coming out at the end of the year. No relation to the last series.... Will it be a stand alone or the start to another series? Who knows...

I hope they continue. I really like this series. All three are very nice coins.

I believe continuation of an existing series is better than starting a new one..... it will carry along a group of follower and at the same time attract more collectors, which will increase the demand and popularity of the series, making the older coins more valuable ==> Adding value to the series.

So far I haven't been that interested in the glass / silver coin combos but I would like to see a dragon fly. I'm not sure if they could pull it off. The wings would be fragile. No I didn't get the hologram, I'm mostly about the struck proof coin with of course some exceptions.
