Looks good, 52Raymo!

I believe it is 40% silver because it is a Type 1 Reverse (not all S mint Ikes were silver..you can weigh it to be possitive)
Some 1976-S Variety 1 Eisenhower dollars are 40% Silver, some are Cu-Ni Clad Proof.
Some 1976-S 40% Silver Eisenhower dollars are Proof, some are Uncirculated.

All 1976-S 40% Silver Eisenhower dollars are Variety 1.
All 1976-S Variety 2 Eisenhower dollars are Cu-Ni Clad Proof.
All 1976-S Cu-Ni Clad Eisenhower dollars are Proof.

Thanks everyone...it was advertised as a silver 76 so I'll be sure and weigh it when it gets here (24.59 I believe). I just liked the looks of it and felt I needed an Ike for my collection, especially a bicentennial to go with my quarters. I see melt is right at 7 bucks now so I did ok paying 7.50 !

Yeah thanks JB...I might try that car polish compound and a Dremel to try and get that super shiny finish like that YouTube guy does with the Kennedy halves.

I'd say a MS63/64, as it doesn't even qualify as a low 65, due to lack of luster and some marks. It contains a small amount of silver, about a 3rd of an ounce, and I'd pay maybe $10 for it.

With the rise in silver prices melt is at 7.34 now. I figure it's worth 10-14 bucks so I did ok at 7.fiddy.

I'll try but my USB scope sucks on silver. I might try my old Sony mavica with the 3.5 flappy.
