Congratulations. The awards are very well deserved.
I just read the article on Herb Hicks efforts for the first time and was impressed and captivated (as usual). I had known nothing about this.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.

I am still new to all the various phases of coin collecting.... so I have no clue what you won.
HOWEVER, I want to congratulate you for what you have accomplished and thanks for sharing well done.

May favorite part Quote: Mintage alone doesn't drive demand. Any one who collects Mexico will nod their head in agreement to that.

well. I started to read the first article gotta say man you have me hooked and interested in that topic in the first article! so interesting... well done
the second comment I have is this-
regarding mintage being the ultimate indicator for demand on coins and mexican coins. Yes, after some observation of coins with limited mintage, low mintage, and say Mexican Libertads...
I agree. Low mintage is not the only true indicator of demand for a coin. One thing that really seems to trump that is simply when a coin is disliked and comes in well below its mintage numbers. Then a rush of buyers comes in AFTER the fact.
However, to me the ultimate indicator of demand with coins I feel is price. As the price rises, more and more demand bumps it up. To me, this seems like a common strategy that befits trades, buying high and selling higher.
anyways, getting off topic here, sorry! Great job once again

Quote: and say Mexican Libertads.. Im not talking about bullion coins. I'm talking about circulating coins. Coins with around 1000 mintage that sell for melt... No Demand.
