The dark areas appear to be luster breaks.
If they are then the graders will make a best guess as to the cause.

If they think mishandling (slider) then it could be as low as AU-58.
If they think normal Mint handling probably MS-65.

This is one of those coins that has to be viewed in-hand.

I would have to guess it's another 67. I love any WLH that looks like a ASE in a photograph. Very nice.

I'm right there with you dave. That is the thing I look for most when I am picking these out. I start at the left thumb, then the head, then the eagles feathers.

Once again the guesses are all over the place. AU58 to MS67. The luster on this one is outstanding. Thanks for checking in.

Yes, you were one of the few that hit it on the head.

I'm taking a little break from posting pics but will come back with some nice ones soon. At some point I will have my graded Short set complete.

I think those breaks in the luster on the high points are not serious enough to actually constitute wear.

That is where the fun still lies. I need the 41S, 42S, 44S, and 45S. I posted the 46S and just picked up a 43S so I will do that one sometime soon.

I'm looking for 66+ minimum, with some thumb, as white as possible and PCGS/CAC so it makes it a bit difficult.
