How many people here have written a letter to the RCM demanding that they assist in fighting the NCLT counterfeits? ebay has listened and has made an effort. Has the RCM? |

When I was living in Alberta, I wrote a letter to my MP... never heard back... Have you thought about a petition that could circulate at coin shows? An official document with a few thousand signatures might get the RCM's or Minister of Finance's attention... I have the letter from Ian Bennett responding to me. He stated that "The RCM works hand in hand with the RCMP to prevent and educate about counterfeiting." Sgt. Tony only laughed when I asked him about it, and Bennett provided a link to the RCMP website which are ALL my images........... That was the response I got when I wrote the Prime Minister. hmmmmmmm |

I just received my first fake silver coin. I love my color wildlife bullion. I have several of these. So I was excited when I found a 2013 color bison for $45. I just opened it, the color is off being totally black, with a kind of color sparkle effect. When I took it out of it's capsule, it fell, landing with a clunk, instead of a ring. Also the coin came with a capsule and no collector box & COA. I need to figure out how to proceed. I had no idea fakes of these existed. When I can figure out how to post pics I will do so. I'd appreciate if anyone can provide me with more info on these particular fakes. Here's the auction # 331171776995Edited by pocket change 50

I'm surprised to see that the seller had only one 'neutral'(not arrived, and refunded purchase price) with the remainder of feed back as positive, and always '5 stars'. Looking forward to your pictures to check it out. I kind of doubt with over 1300 sales he intentionally sold a fake coin with lots of his other coins 'certified'.

I don't want this coin to be sold to another unsuspecting buyer. This is why I'm not sure how to proceed. The seller has 100% FB, and I looked through their FB history, no signs of issues. I figured it was just bad lighting on the photo. Sometimes my photos don't show the accurate color. I appreciate your reply Arianzo. I hope mike chimes in. I really didn't think there were fakes of the color bullion. This is a good experience for me. I get to examine a real fake. I wonder what ebay will have me do with the coin. |

Pocket change, did you contact the seller? what did he say? where did he get the coin?

Are you saying that this is not a 1oz Ag coin? Or that it is not the 'real' PMD coloured 1oz Ag coin you thought it was? If the former and it's not silver, then it's a fake. But if it is an ounce of silver, isn't it just not the same coloured coin you assumed it was - the 'low mintage' German one? Anyone could take a 1oz Bison and spray paint it. It technically is a coloured 1oz coin and not a fake. However, if it is truly a fake and not 1oz of silver, I think the law requires you to destroy it or surrender it to police. In that case, I would still pursue getting my money back. |

The seller contacted me, and is willing to do a refund, complete with shipping both ways. I'm wondering if I should send it by regd mail. I do think it's not silver, when it fell, the sound was a clunk. When I get my real bison I will compare the 2 more. I don't have the equipment to measure or weigh the coin. I need to do the magnet test.

First off I am not the seller.. But that is in fact a real 1 ounce silver coin. It may have been a bad aftermarket paint job, But I can guarantee you that is a real coin, No one fakes milk spots.

I know this dealer well, although I doubt the coin is not silver, I know he will do everything to take care of the issue, even it costs himself money.

The seller is very upstanding. They contacted me immediately and offered it make it right. Then sent another message with their ph number. I will definitely deal with them again. They will get a positive 5 stars review for their prompt response to resolve the issue. I just wish I knew if it was a real silver coin. It's nice to deal with upstanding sellers. I'm glad I can leave them a positive review. It just shows it's best to take a calm approach and not be rude about things. Too many people get angry and rude too fast. There is definitely something wrong with the coin, I just can't figure it out 100%. The paint is definetly off, the color is too dark, doesn't meet at edges. However, why take a real silver coin & duplicate the color? It doesn't make sense. The color when viewed from the side has sparkle effects. I wonder how difficult it would be to duplicate the scene?
