Quote: die cracks make a coin worth more or less, or more or less collectible? Price is always connected to rarity In some varieties the die crack is uncommon and commands a premium. In other varieties the die crack is quite common so coins without the die crack are more valuable.

Quote: That's an amazing crack; you can expect enthusiasts to be out in force for it, and bidding will likely exceed its' intrinsic value. Oh yeah! Man, I would love to own that coin! (Lucky for you, I would never try to sneak in and snipe someone else's discovery). Good luck with your bidding, my friend!! I'm rooting for you. IMO, you may need to make sure your top bid is pretty generous...

Nice grab! Not a bad price either. Like Moe mentioned earlier, it is not right to tread into another CCF members auction buying opportunity.

Just saw this thread for the first time right now. oih82w8 - awesome nickel, cent & Morgan! I was really interested in the Two Cent Piece and had a much, much higher bid into the low three figures set up on one of my sniping programs, it failed to execute my bid - so congrats Stylez, you won a super cool two center. If you ever want to sell it - give me shot at it please.

Thanks westcoin and if I ever want to part with it ill make sure to contact you first... I noticed that besides the extensive die crack from the "A" in states to past the "A" in america to the bow and other cracks on the reverse... I couldnt find a real grade in my book cause the coin has some features that are easily found and other that are harder to figure out... what do you guys think the grade on this coin would be... I'm leaning towards F to AU, but AU might be too generous considering the "WE" is almost smooth but the rest of the obverse is in good condition and the reverse has a little more wear but should still grade higher than G maybe around F to VF?

I think the obverse would grade around VF30 the reverse has some issues unfortunately so probably no more than a F15/VF20. So an overall grade of maybe VF20 on this one, but also details from a pretty harsh cleaning on the reverse as well. I think it will tone out nicely over a few years stored in the right conditions.

I got the coin the other day and its looks great in person but until I get a better camera I'm not going to be able to post pics that will do it justice... I have started looking in the microscopes for coins and once I get one of those that'll work with my camera ill be able to take some good shots like that seller did.... thanks for everyone's help and advice, I really like it here and like all of you that I've met so far... PEACE...
