In theory, Flying Eagle cents should never be found in coin rolls. They are thicker and heavier, with different electro conductivity, than the bronze cents which followed them.

They should not pass through coin sorting machines.

sel_691 - I suppose they could crop up in CWR though - such as if someone found one lying about the house and didn't realise what it was...

Hello all. I was pointed to this thread from a member who commented on a thread I posted about a 1857 Flying Eagle I found in a Canadian cent roll recently. Its worn down quite a bit but still a great find here in Canada. Here is a link to the post with pics. Enjoy.

Nope.

I have found 6 or 7 Indians but no FE's after 100 if not more boxes.

As long as you could find a vendor to accept them, yes.

I believe, could be wrong, that the U.S., Canada and Switzerland are the only countries that have never demonetized.

The US demonetized the Trade dollar in 1876, but that was reversed in 1965.
