Is there a section on the CCF where members have a profile which gives this sort of information?

You can edit your personal profile to include such things, if you wish. Click on "My CCF" up near the top of the screen, click on "Manage your Profile", enter your username and password at the prompt, then type whatever you wish in the "More About Me - Bio" section. Then, any forum member who clicks on your username can read it.

Alternatively (or additionally), we do have a collection of member profiles, though it doesn't get promoted much these days. As far as I know, it still works. Click on "What Our Members Collect" in the navigation bar over on the left side of the screen, under the "Stuff for Members" category. Type in your e-mail address and whatever you wish in the "Tell us what you collect" box.

YOC - I ave a coin of campgates with the same patinas. Perhaps they were from your hoard...Couldve been a die match in there! (similarly...there could not have been, I'm fighting a losing battle which will probably take more than a couple of decades of vigilance to complete).

I have collected modern coins all my life, about 92%.World coins.5% and ancient coins 3%..
have been collecting ancients for the last two years. When I would go to coin shows I would look at ancients..about 10yrs ago I wanted one ancient coin the Athen's owl, which I finely purchased early this year..after that is history..i still collect moderns and World coins, but ancients have a new first place lately ...i know this has been shown a few times, but I love this coin..

I only collect ancients/medieval, no modern. My focus is Roman and Germanic coins from the 400s-500s AD (yes the "ugly" ones), and been lately getting into early Byzantine as well. I will occasionally venture out to other centuries (especially 600-1200 AD).

One of my favorite coins from my collection, my Theodahad decanummium (not sure of the order of my top-three favorites but its definitely among them):

I hate coins. I am so sick of cataloguing them non-stop - it's all I do... The things I tend to like (e.g., magnificent Roman gold medallions, stunningly beautiful Greek silver, superb Medieval issues from the Lowlands, etc.) are outside my budget, so I gave up collecting a long time ago.

Since you hate coins, if you have any ancients you want to get rid off, I'd be happy to take them off your hands

Yes it's hard to imagine being sick of coins however I was interested in computers once upon a time but here I am 15 years into my IT career and have got to the stage where I would probably rather clean toilets.

There are very few coins in existence that I am not at least slightly interested in. I am working on some completely impossible targets like every republican type, every emperor, every Greek city, every English penny etc. I am certain I will never get there but its fun trying all the same. When I first started I thought it would be a good investment but I didn't anticipate at the time just how much I would enjoy collecting. I have realised recently that I can't bring myself to sell any of them.
