What are you using as diffusers on your set-up?
(Kind of unrelated)

I have several different homemade diffusers I use. The last set of pictures of the quarter was no diffusion and 2 jansjo's set about 16" above at 10 and 2 almost vertical. If you like I could take some pictures of my "high tech" diffusers for you.

Sure.
I will probably use some light paper (Tracing Paper), to cover the jansjo's.

Yes white tissue paper is a must for simple diffusion. Here are some of my diffusion boxes...I really like the mandarin orange box one best. I cut the top out and taped white tissue paper over the entire top with a small hole for the lens. I also cut the side out to access the coins. You must remember, every coin is different and with require different or no diffusion. Lighting is the biggest trick to it all as you can tell with the 1928 quarter and how different it looks in each picture...

I agree, the orange box does look like it would be best. I seen on another forum, that you can use glass (a wine glass in this case) to diffuse light. I will post a couple of the pictures. *I am going to start a thread about this as well, I am curious if anyone else has ever tried it.

A wine glass...I didn't see the thread....my wife is gonna kill me lol. I will have to try that!! Would be a bit tricky getting the coin in and out of the glass.
I have one other method that I have had good success with...cut a hole in the middle of a white paper plate just big to slide over the lens and instead of pointing the jansjo's down at the coin...point them up towards the plate

Ray suggested making a "Smile Director". So, I will try to make one of them as well. https://goccf.com/t/124968
