 to the commuinity More than likely it is a third party set (non U.S.Mint) when the State Quarters came out, everyone jumped on the band wagon and came out with special sets,folders,binders, and maps. They did the same for the Presidential dollars. Unless they are proofs, they are worth little more than face value. But pictures will help determine that. Edited by denco7

Also the authenticity papers are from the US mint but ill let you guys decide if it's worth pursuing.

Why not continue to add coins to the holder and complete the set? It could serve as a lasting memory of the person who left it to you. It would not be expensive to add the missing coins - you may even be able to find some of the early issues in circulation/pocket change. As it is now, the partial set has little value above the face value of the coins that are in it. One of these folders (without coins) is currently available on ebay for $10 + shipping. Collecting history one coin or medal at a time! (c) commems. All rights reserved.

Good plan, if you think you are going to get rich from a collection or a single item you will most likely be disappointed. It's all about the fun of it. A roll of dollar coins if $25 and usually has a good mix of SBA, SAC and Presidential dollars. ( SBA - Susan B. Anthony, SAC - Sacagawea) we use a lot of abbreviations here. Finding them in near mint condition is not hard, they have never been very popular. Another problem with the Presidential dollar series is they seem to have given up on it. The newest one I have is Chester A. Arthur dated 2011. I think the mint is still making them in proof for collectors thou. |

The mint is making them for sale through rolls and bags through the mint, they are no longer produced for circulation

The 2012 and later ones are going to be a little tough to find since they stopped minting them for circulation after 2011, but definitely not impossible as a number of them still tend to make it out.

You should usually find lots of info on this forum. As to your Album, I suppose you did check the covers front and back for a name. Even on the edge. Difficult to understand why a manufacturer would not leave some trace as to their name. If you could find the name of the manufacturer of that Album, you could find their address on the internet from just their name. One thing you may want to try is Google and dollar coin albums. Might take some time but someone had to make that. It is obviously well made and should be tracable. Keep us informed if anyone does find out info on that. |

@Just carl I searched online many times and can't find the album anywhere. I searched for a name on it and cannot find it but the relative who left it with me conveniently left a newspaper article about the album and coins with it. Also I have authenticity papers saying that they were distributed by the World Reserve it came with the five minted presidential coins.

Bingo! World Reserve Monetary Exchange. That is a third party company well known for selling common coins through full page newspaper and magazine adds for inflated prices. Usually with gimmicks or claims of very short term availability, or only available to certain people. Such as only available to the people living in a given state in the following zip codes (and then they list all or almost all the zip codes in the state.). And they run the same add in every state just changing the state name and zip code list. Back when the Washington President dollar was released they ran adds offering a fifty coin roll free as a special deal. All you had to pay was shipping and handling......and a special vault release fee of $98. So for a total of about $112 you would receive a free "ballistic roll" of 50 Washington dollar, that could be picked up as two rolls of $25 for $50 at about any local bank. And the they "gave away" a ton of those rolls.
So basically you have a nice holder that has no special value and five President dollars available at the back for $5. My advice would be to have some fun and go through bank rolls to try and complete the set, but don't expect it to have any value above that of the coins.

Who knows, you may catch the bug and become an addict like the rest of us. If nothing else though you can complete something someone special to you started and you can have something to remember them by. Either way |
