Their heads "shifted" down and sticked somewhere below the neck.
The left one too thin. Lack of the proper 3-rd dimension.
Looks like that the designer was busy with other work, and he asked for help his novice student.

You guys might be right about the design of the second Bison coin. However, the mint's prtrayal probably does not do it justice.

According to the description:

Your coin was designed by Canadian artist Trevor Tennant and features a female and male plains bison standing side-by-side in the grassy landscape on a summer day. The differences between the two genders are striking when comparing the two side-by-side, with the bull (on the right) towering slightly over the cow (on the left). The bull appears all the more imposing, thanks to the thicker, taller mane on its head.

This may explain why the two Buffalo look so different.

When I list to sell unwanted stuff, immediately put fixed price as $75 with the "Best Offer", while the issue was $99.95

Yeah, like I said: I bought not many, but not a few coins, that actually unnecessary in my collection.
If I was smarter - I would filtered from the beginning and not buying everything what I like.

But, I knew that I take a loss, and doesn't meter if I keep the coins or resell. So I know, that dealer might take them for 40%-50% issue, but for the public the 70% will be good.

@ Yup I agree with you 100%!! I have cutback to about 8 purchases in 2015. There will be very select purchases this year. The only coins I will buy mint direct are our xforx coins and it will depend on design.

I'm through bleeding money for the mints benefit. they got spoiled back in 2012. No other sector will people tolerate being overcharged for a non essential item. I'm hoping this will correct itself in the next couple years. I just saved $20 on a coin released in oct. This is a very fast discount.

I have the 2 first bison coins, and glad I didn't buy the others yet. I will add them in the future. I have over spent on the great lakes set. Absolutely stunning coins, original design, enamel, and still they fail to maintain issue price. It doesn't add up. Its got to be too many releases. After watching what happened with bison set, I have stayed away from other 4 coin animal sets. There are many coins id like, but cannot afford. The inability to keep up with releases is becoming a turn off.

I had hoped if an emergency ever happened, my coins would have retained at least 80% of issue price. Its amazing the impact low silver spot is having on the market. Now if the mints will wake up and adjust their prices accordingly. I would happily collect more coins, if prices were more realistic.

I think its the selling model. Mints need to either sell direct, or to dealers only. As with the sales, dealers can undercut the mint. Frankly knowing dealers get discounts, and loyal customers don't, gives little incentive to buy mint direct. The only time its beneficial to buy mint direct, is when prices are expected to increase.

Its a bad cycle, buy a coin for a hundred, then its value drops quickly to$50. Then if you need to sell, a dealer offers $25,because they can only sell it for $50. This is a sure way to kill the nclt hobby! I like the changing artwork, but I cannot afford to keep flushing away money on overpriced coins. This model is not sustainable. Soon the majority of buyers will come to this conclusion. Currently when looking at CCF press of top selling RCM coins, its all x for x coins, no others hit top spot. This is very telling.
