According to the Mint, the -S ATB are intended for collectors only and only sold in roll (for the year the ATB is issue), just like the Half and Native American dollar. So, if you like a particular design, make sure to get them from the Mint, aftermarket price usually higher.

The Mint introduced the S-minted quarters in 2012 for the collector market with a 40-coin roll and a 100-coin bag. In 2013, the Mint still had the S rolls and bags, but introduced the 3-roll set containing P,D,& S rolls. 2014 will carry over the same line up as 2013.

Interesting that even with the new 3-Roll P-D-S Set option, the White Mountain mintage still came in under the El Yunque.
My favorite thing about the "S" Quarters is that they are 2-3 grade points higher average than true business strike P and D Quarters (exception: my stash of Mount Rushmore-D's are almost "S" quality)

Rolls are nice, but the (single) three coin set has the proof S quarter... Quote:The 2014 United States Mint America the Beautiful Quarters Three-Coin Set - " Great Smoky Mountains National Park features one uncirculated quarter from the United States Mint at Philadelphia, one uncirculated quarter from the United States Mint at Denver and one proof quarter from the United States Mint at San Francisco. I only want one. I cannot buy just one. Oh well, I just wait to get them from dealers at the coin show. Usually no more than a dollar each. I can live with that.

Quote: May be machine20 can help jbuck getting his -S quarters.... ;) That is okay. I do enjoy getting them at the coin show, since I am already there. Also, I get to pick from the rolls.

The 2013 White Mountain was released in Jan 28, 2013 and the Perry Victory was released on April 1, 2013.

I get a couple of each design and put them in flips for now. I figure that they will eventually have an album for them. In the meantime, I like the looks of the 'S' quarters. I think they are more prooflike than either the 'P' or 'D' quarters. And the mintage is much lower. How can you go wrong?

Totally agree w/ perfessor. I buy at least 1 roll of each design and just set them aside, considered it a saving vehicle (only cost less than $20 per roll, less than $100 per year for $50 face value.)

Those mintages sure are interesting. If there's much spread in grade nice coins might be a great thing to have in a few years.

Once the market (TPG, album making companies, etc) catching up, the series get popularize, we should see a shift in collectors interest. This series will be like the Jefferson 1950-D and the LWC 1931-S.....
