I can understand how the seller might have problems finding a starting price for something that isn't quite yet well known in terms of population or scarcity. I have a duplicate of a Victorian twenty-five cents variety that has been recently discovered which I thought of using in trade and have no idea what it might be worth.

I agree, overpriced. A 50 dollar coin. And 20 bucks shipping is too much.

Forgive me fellow coin forum folks! I was just messing around here lol! Actually pretty funny I was wondering why the views had ramped up so much. My listing changes were all in good fun!

@JeyRey2000: would you feel comfortable if someone actually bid $299 on your coin? Don't get me wrong; it is your coin and that gives you the right to establish the price. But your "all in good fun" could have set some new collector back by $299.

Actually I would not feel bad at all because there is no assigned value to these coins. On the other hand why not ask all the collectors who have purchased an improperly labelled coin if they feel bad when they buy an 1859 wide 9 and it's actually a DP#1. Or ask cdn coin if they think the price tag on their EF40 double 5 is too high? A coin is worth at much as someone wants to pay for it as long as the seller is being honest in the description. Just my 2 cents!

ebay is full of people trying to buy low and sell high, some of my coins I sold to another seller I have seen them go for triple of what he paid, its all about timing I post mine at buy now or best offer,i had coins going for 150 and sold them for 30 so I don't care what someone does with their prices it is always up to the buyer how much he is willing to give, buy now or best offer, best way to sell takes away all the lowballers,,,,,,,,,,

I delisted my item to ditch all the unwanted traffic. Bid or don't bid but look at my feedback and see I am a good seller! I've seen these coin between VF and EF listed for 100-250 dollars so you judge! Also look at trends for narrow 9 AU coins . The coin is also certified already so no second guessing required! If I decide to jack up the price again I will when I feel like it! Maybe I think it's worth 250 and was being a super nice guy lowering to 99.
Thanks folks!

In one of your posts you said the coin is delisted. In the next post you are stating that the listing is still there. Very strange. I see you already changed the price twice on the "delisted" auction. Sir, just want to make it clear, this is your coin, you do what you please. Have a good rest of the day.

JeyRey: is the seller of the coin.. as such he can ask what ever he wants for the coin...it is also his right to change the price listed on the coin... I KNOW for a fact some people put up listings on ebay with crazy prices just to show off a coin they're not hoping to actually sell... but hey if someone wants to pay you your asking price... it's a no brainer . You were hoping to squeeze in a last minute bid for the coin at $99 .... understandable and it is a bidding technique... now that you can't I can see why you're a bit upset but you have no reason to be... you're not out any money and haven't entered into any type of contract... Now HAD you bid on the item and then the price was retracted THAT would be a different issue! JeyRey listed it at one point and to him it may have been below market value at that point it is HIS risk if anyone makes a bid. As he would then be forced to sell below HIS perceived value. People change their prices on items all the time... let's move on before this gets silly or out of hand...
