lol whilst you are at it Shane send that file of fake Chinese knock offs you bought. I am sure that Apcgs will grade them as mint state! you will regret it if you send them stuff to be graded. $8 may be cheap but a cheap turd is still a turd

Quote: DUMB butt SHEEP FARMER TROUT I rang them today asking about there $8 special for slabbing sounded good $8 any way did I read or here they have changed owners anyone tell me I don't want to send 50c and cheap mules to the usa to hard to much money postage insurance
I am not a farmer , I work in the Mining industry. Anyway the farmers that kept their sheep in WA are laughing all the way to the bank with the way lamb prices have been over the last few years. Sending Decimal coins away to PCGS will normally cost about $25 per coin, NOT a huge expense and what you get back is a genuine appraisal of your coin which will enhance its value. APCGS at $8 a pop is simply a waste of money, Unless you intend to dupe people with the BS grades supplied by this company. IMHO anyone that gets their coins graded by APCGS knowing their "Modus operendi" and then offers them for sale are just as shonky and should be avoided like the plague . You have some outstanding coins Mate , Why waste your money and sully your reputation by sending them to APCGS

Lol ..... Trout, I think Shane was referring to himself with the farmer comment. He often calls himself that.

my theory on this coin in order to make the 2000 50c in colour coin the inner flag would have had to been wider. as you need some extra width and depth for the enamel in the colour coins from the proof set so would these be left over coins from the colour stage

The proof coin has NO design on the flag and is simply pad printed. The incused design was supposed to have been incorporated into the Mint sets but that was axed, They simply used the die in the circulation run instead of just scrapping it.

No, it's just that I would''ve bid on that coin.
But I don't know the difference between APCGS and PCGS. I figured that if it's slabbed, then that's a guarantee that its MS or whatever.
It would be easy for someone to dupe me with a coin because I don't have any experience of what to look for.

Quote: I figured that if it's slabbed, then that's a guarantee that its MS or whatever. No slab is a guarantee of a grade, not even a respectable TPG like PCGS. Grading is a very subjective art. The same coin will often get a different grade with another TPG and sometimes even a different grade when resubmitted to the same TPG. Even the respectable TPGs make mistakes. I've seen fakes that have been slabbed, cleaned coins that have been slabbed and even the wrong dated coin in a slab. Its the reason I think it is insane that people will spend thousands of dollars just for 1 extra sheldon grading point. Sorry brett if that sounds a bit overwhelming. Respectable TPGs like NGC and PCGS are usually pretty good, and if you start at the lower end of the market any mistakes you make won't be too expensive and you will learn to pick the good coins from the bad.

brett5091, the difference between PCGS and "APCGS" is that PCGS is known all over the world. This company calling themselves "APCGS" seems to be well-known in Port Macquarie and a facebook group.
