I'd advise you to buy whatever you like the most, or whatever will make you happy at the moment. If you're looking for something that will be liquid and quickly sellable in the future, then the ASE's and 90% would be what you should look through. But in general, unless you plan to have it most/all your life, or have high value, key date, sought after coins, don't look at your coins as an investment, and maybe even then. With investments come expectations, with expectations can come disappointment.

Blacknwhite some say junk silver coins is always best bet as most sellers get a good over spot premium for ASE..but I love to collect both.. I always shop for silver proof sets that are sold near spot the 2002-2006 sets are becoming a very good score

For about $65 I suggest the following: 1. Send that to me and I'll use it for about one tank of gasoline. 2. On a more serious note, why not just go to a bank and purchase $65 in Nickels. Should almost be able to fill a Jefferson Album or Folder with that. 3. Keep away from ebay. With all the ebay charges, paypal charges, shipping, handling, postage and on and on, you would have about $0.10 left. 4. OR buy a copy of the new Red Book, sit down and look through it for some ideas. 5. Find and go to a coin show. Usually free to get in and you could find lots of stuff to spend money on.

Lately I have been buying pre 64 sealed proof sets from ebay. They typically go for around $20-$25 a set and if you are lucky you could stumble upon a nice cameo hiding in the envelope. It's more of a gamble than an investment though, but then again $65 isn't much of an "investment".

hi all, here is an update. I bought 2 2014 ASE for $52.00 this afternoon. now I'm left with $13.00. maybe the choice of using "investment" was not a good word choice, meant more along the lines of something interesting. in any case been looking around and dont see a whole lot for $13.00. was thinking about spending the remainder on currency (silver certs)

Challenge yourself. Buy something with the $65, and then sell it and try and buy something better.....keep upgrading.

$13 could be the start of a Barber dime collection. you could knock out 4 or 5 of them probably.

Just remember not to take back coins you don't want to the same bank. This is what is getting banks mad at people. They get a pile of coins, look through them, then return to the same bank.

"Invest" in the stock market or gold. Coins have proven to be poor investments, in fact, more often than not, you'll end up losing money.

Real-estate. They aren't making any more land and it hardly ever goes down in value (if bought smartly).
