Do You Store In Danscos' Or Whitmans'...?

Airtites with black rings here...but for albums I do prefer the look of Dansco's over Whitman's...but honestly I don't have any albums.

Less quality coins in 2x2's and sheets with a 3 ring binder works for me.

I started with Whitman/Harris folders because they sell them locally. But my big thumbs bend the cardboard when I put the coins in them. I bought some Dansco albums to transfer them over to be able to see both front and back of coins. But the pages and albums I need where hard to get, exspensive so I ended up getting old vintages ones, put the leather on the vintage ones have the glue pealing. Now I use just came to the conclusion simple plastic sheets with 2x2 flips in them. But I do like the way the Dansco's look. Btw is it only me that cant press 5 coins into a Harris folder without bending them?

Harris does seem to use lesser quality book board that Whitman, which is strange since they are one company now and everything is the same price still. I find that with either folder to take a break after a coin ot two to let your finger relax so you don't force too hard. Also the medicine bottle trick I have mentioned before gets the coin in most times without any scars to the folder and no damage to the coins, which is key thing for me. Just get in your hole and stay there so I can have other things beside a "date set" for crying out loud you silly coin! I have been tempted to take some epoxy resin and make something to hold coins like those old baseball card holders with the 4 screws. Then again I almost once took half dollars and put them into an epoxy cube as a set of dice with half dollar pips, but they would have been way to larger to use.

I like both and have both, but mostly Whitman. I like the blue better as well as the font used. One drawback is that Whitman doesn't sell slip covers (that I know of).

I use Dansco only because that's what is more readily available where I am from. Once I started with Dansco, I continue because my slight OCD wants all my books to look alike. If I had started with Whitman, I would probably have all Whitman. I actually prefer the blue color, but it would not fit in with all my Danscos at this point in the ball game. I've never had a quality problem with my Danscos, so that eliminates my need to switch brands also. I use the Dansco books primarily for sets. Bulk coins I keep in 2x2s and boxes.

I use basically Whitman Albums. Whitman is more of a Central US area product. Dansco is more readily found West. Littleton is more prevalent in the East Coast areas. It's primarily due to where they are made. However, Whitman lost a lot of fans when they were bought out by Harris. Now they make Harris, Whitman and US Mint Albums. Whitman is basically a Publishing house today and concentrates more on books than coin producint products.

I have well over 100 Albusm. Most are Whitman but I also have some Dansco ones. Mostly due to availability. I go to lots of coin shows and ask dealers what they do with Albums they buy from people. Most say they throw them out. So I ask if they could bring me some and some do. Over many years I've probably acquired over a thousand Albums and Folders doing this. Mostly all Folders are given to kids, schools, Goodwill or friends.
I dislike Dansco Albums due to their poor planning on the amount of holes required. So many have those last blank slots at the end. Whitman makes their Albums so all slots are accounted for. And no slots at the end of the page to grab the plastic slides too is irritating with Dansco.
So many people say what they like about Dansco is the way the look like a rich, fancy book. Then hide them away anyway. I'll stick to Whitman or whatever I can get free.
There are many other manufacturers out there for coin Albums and Folders. So many are made cheap or the color is just not appealing.

Just purchased my first empty album today a Whitman 1938-1961 folder. Got it new on Amazon hope it goes well I keep hearing problems about coins being pushed through them.

I apply light pressure directly to the slide, preferably over one of the vacant holes.
