Always great to pick up stuff that's been out of circulation, at face value!

That is soooo great! My best was asking for halves and getting a few rolls with most being 40% and about 8 were 90%. What a rush.

I have never driven so fast back to a bank and said, "hey, can you ask any other tellers if they have any more halves, and please check the vault for me?"

A Peace dollar, now that's something! I'd trade all the 40% for ONE of those, just for the wow factor!

Nice finds.

I am biased towards the Eisenhower dollars, but the Peace is nice, too.

Awesome! Comgrats on a great find! I've yet to luck out like that, I always look in the drawer at every store I go to but haven't spotted anything.... Untill the other day at a little family owned/run country store, the extra slot in the drawer was literally overflowing with silver halfs, quarters and dimes.... I politely asked to buy the whole slot but the lady simply said "no, those are mine".... She must have been saving them in there as it's her family's store. I was soo upset.... I finally find a bunch of silver (I'm talking a lot... It was spilling over to the slot next to it) and they wouldn't give it to me, lol. But I don't blame her.... Though, I do think if an employee is going to buy them out herself that they should do so right away... I was tempted to keep going in and buying .25 things so they had to keep giving me change, and eventually the silver, lol.

thanks for the comments all. I've never found a silver half or even a silver quarter, so this was really a surprise. It has definitely inspired me to always ask when I go to the banks. I go so much for dumping, I will now be asking too, even if I can't see anything in the tray. Hell, if I can find a Peace dollar, I should be able to find some silver halves eventually.

Also got a 1935 wheatie in change yesterday :-) It was before the dollar, I guess it was a good sign.

Nathan, too bad you could not get that pile, that would have been a dream find.

jbuck, I kept the nicest bicentenial and the 1972. I may need to buy a folder for them now and hunt the rest!

Cool find!

(PS. Are you from the Delaware County Coin Club? If so, my name is Kenny, the boy who did a presentation on 2009 Lincoln Cent errors.)

Looks like a nice AU on the Peace.

The only large dollars I have gotten are Ikes.
