(With apologies for the mangled quote)
Me thinks the laddie doth protest too much...
Face it my friends you just can't fix stupid even with WD40 and duct tape. He will learn, move on or be happy in his special world.

Trying to argue market value with "serious numismatists" is like playing chess with a pigeon. It craps on the board. Knock several pieces over, and then goes off to sing to it's friends of it's victory.
Hahahaaa.....

$42 minus paypal fees nets $40.67... Then factor in eBays fees which are about 8%... You're at $37 and change already. Let's say you ship it as cheap as possible, still gonna cost ya about $3... suddenly you're at $34 and change. You lost ~$8, or around 20% of what you spent on the coin... that's the definition of a bad business decision.
I'd love to see your other coins, post them up here. Nothing I like more than laughing at some fool who overpaid for everything and cops an attitude about it.

"Market value" doesn't mean the money that a fool overpays for polished junk. If you are thinking it is, then you are wrong, wrong, wrong. Creating nonsense by yourself and living in your happy world of your rules and overpaying fools? Just listen to the experienced collectors before you are laughed at by the entire community. Oh wait, I think most already are laughing at you.

Right, but the fact remains that the coin sold for the exact same price that I bought it for.
You "serious numismatists" have no idea of the market value of a coin.
I was right to buy this coin for the price I paid. You guys were wrong in your appraisal.
Read a book or something.

So you're admitting you made a bad business decision? Also just because one fool overpays for a coin doesn't make it worth that much. Watch the buyer return it once they realize it's a polished piece of crap. Since I want to see the rest of your coins, look at a few of the coins I got back from grading today... Let's play count the number of coins worth over $300! I can tell you the market value of every one of those coins. Heck, I already sold three of them.

We were wrong in the appraisal? We told you the actual market value of your coin; what a knowledgeable person may pay for it. We didn't expect a fool to overpay for the polished coin. We should read books? Go read a good book on numismatics yourself, and LEARN, dude. LEARN. Please stop making a fool of yourself, and learn when you are given the chance to.

I can only assume that those who have been proven incorrect yet continue to fight for their own reasoning are foolish.
I suppose you guy would have accepted no more than melt value for this coin?
It is not only foolish, but blatantly foolish to hobby in special monies and have no knowledge of values.
Give up already.
You're beaten.
I am leaving this thread, and I'm not coning back.
Good bye.
You tried to act too many parts and failed at one.

Smart like a lemon? What the heck? Your first classic coin buy is a cleaned piece of junk. CLEANED PIECE OF JUNK. I wouldn't touch it nor have it in my collection if you paid me $100 and gave it to me for free. By the way, I haven't watched pawn stars in 3 years or so. I live in the real world, I have 6 ebay tabs open right now, and move well into 5 figures worth of coins every year... and I don't know anything.

You are making a SERIOUS fool of yourself. Something tells me you're messing with us here. Being the first poster on this thread, I still stand by my factual statement that this coin has been polished. I didn't lowball your coin. I graded it honestly. It's been polished - no doubt about it; we didn't say it's polished to be mean. Facts are facts my friend. The fact that you continue to want to argue with experienced and newer numismatists both makes no sense to me. You've been collecting for a few months and you already think that you know everything. Uh, you don't - and neither do we. This forum is a place to learn and NOT a place to argue, please accept that. All of us here would LOVE to teach you everything we can about your coin and future purchases. I hope your stay is better.
Want to know a legitimate reason why I said your coin was cleaned, rendering it worth no more than the $16 melt value?
Because it is. 'Nuff said.
I think this would be an appropriate time to lock this thread to prevent future arguments.

Some moderator please lock this thread. Any educational value it may have had is now lost. Now it is only bickering and insults.
