I see the point about the homogeneous surfaces being a possible indication of cleaning but overall I would be OK with this piece, at least at the current bid of $341. There are no heavy marks or obvious hairline scratches. Based on the light wear evident on the eagle's shoulder and on the headdress feathers it has AU detail. There would be no chance of a BU grade even if problem-free.
Of course, if you could find a similarly-priced coin in a PCGS, NGC, ANACS, or ICG AU slab that would be a better choice.
