VF-30, maybe higher. Beautiful coin. Great patina.

Here it is again ANACS graded. I'm very pleased with how it turned out and with the service.

Was about to guess VF35. Didn't think it'll go details though.

I suppose, in principle, that every circulated coin is "scratched" to one degree or another. Given how unobtrusive the scratches are, such a designation for this one shouldn't really affect the value if, as most buyers claim, they buy the coin and not the holder. But it's really moot, as I had it graded and slabbed more for a future generation than as an item to sell.

Me too...

Maybe the scratches don't show up in your pictures? From the pictures, I see a VF-30 (easy) CBH.

Maybe re-submit?

I say break 'er out and leave 'er out! (I prefer my coins raw.) I understand your reasoning for having the coin slabbed, I would not let the details grade get you down. Just enjoy it with your family slab label be, well you know.

My guess is that there are scratches that the photo hide. The obverse photo especially seems to be just blurry enough for this purpose.

The only noticeable scratches on the obverse are to the left of and a little below the chin. The mark at the top right is not on the coin or holder, but is a scratch on my scanner bed.
