Don't get me wrong, I respect all of you ballet lovers. However, is this not the real Canadian ballet? Okay! You wanna fight about it? GO HABS GO!

Let's say, from the practical point of view, both are the same. Nothing from the above, adds a penny to the pocket of average fan. National traditions, history, pride and identity - yes! Yes!! Yes! But do they create something really useful or provide any vital services to the people, or use their abilities for something except the show? Questionable

Questionable I would offer that entertainment - whether in the form of the arts or sports - is a vital component of a full and happy life. Entertainment offers every individual the chance at creating a balance in their lives and enables them to enjoy life more fully. I also believe institutions such as those mentioned also enable individuals to come together and form bonds with others in their community while enjoying a shared interest and experience. So I guess I would have to say "Yes!" - I do believe that sports and the arts do serve a purpose and are a useful and important part of society.

Although the design is pretty cool on this coin, I would have bought it if the mintage was much lower, to at least 5,000. I am by no means a ballet fan but from a collectors point of view the low mintage would have helped the coin immensely imo.

@ Canadian coins, yes Canada Post does offer free shipping to US. I had a glass frog sent to a friend in Mesa Arizona and it arrived just fine. I hope this helps.

To my understanding, this coin was created for canada post. The mint has a small percentage to sell, while CP has the majority. I was going to get one for my 5 month old daughter, but decided not to, hoping she is going to be more interested in motorcycles than ballet. If you want one, make friends with a clerk at Canada post instead of wasting your time trying to get one from the mint. Personally, I like the coin, but not enough to buy it since my budget doesn't allow for all 1,000,000 coins the mint is releasing this year. The mint may be sold out but I think I'd find a few elsewhere if I really wanted one. Can't wait for next release at the end of June. I hope there is a coin depicting a 1989 fzr600 so my daughter isn't disappointed I missed the ballet coin.

I really was in hope, that the Dodge 100 Year Anniversary (est. 1914) coin will be issued, but looks like RCM not "into" the cars or bikes theme...so we will wait for other Mint to do it.

I see there's alot of ads on ebay for this coin. One did sell for $167, I wonder how the Pre sellers are dealing with the 30 day rule, when the coin won't be released for 3 months? @ Canadian coins your welcome, I enjoy helping out a fellow collector.
