Does anyone know why there's a significant market premium for the 2015 Loon specifically, when compared to the remaining coins of the 2015 Big Coin Series? CC&C has the Loon listed at $1299, and $649-699 for each of the remaining coins of the same series...?! Colonial Acres also has the Loon marked up comparatively to the other coins in the set...

There should be no real difference in all the coin series, most purchased in sets, have never seen one sold singles in auction, but he did sell quite a few single loonie version a few coin shows ago at about 1000.00, he has about half the mintage.

Same goes for the maple leaf coin. If you buy enough of the stock, you can ask insane prices.

Quote: finally might have got lucky on coin.....don't really plan on selling it though. Congrats for the coin! I believe, that most popular denominations, that most of the people collect will retain their value for 2015 Big Coin series (gilded)....Loonie, 50 cents, Nickel. Hopefully, the series #3 will not be minted....

This might be one of the few sets from the past 2 years to retain value and maybe go up.

I have a case with five coins if you are interested. Not sure which one is missing exactly but I know the loonie is in there. I could remove the loonie if you want a cheaper price and you'd have to find the missing coin.

Sold for $2200 + $330= $2530. Below issue price of $3000.
I am sure buyer fatigue for 5 oz Big Coins a factor for below issue price.

You can't make 6 or 7 versions of the same theme and not destroy the original coin, just complete greed by the RCM, and you wonder why the RCM's NCLT revenues are down by around 20 million

@MoneyPenney: If I'm not mistaken, issue price is $3300. But I understand your point: ~75% below issue. Maybe the person is selling to be able to fund the acquisition of the 2019 series
