Last year I was in a local coin shop when an elderly women came in to get a value on some coins. Her and her husband had been using Morgans, SLQ's, Walkers, etc. to buy groceries at our local Publix. She decided to see if they were worth anything. My jaw must have dropped. Apparently someone at Publix did real well. I guess just about anything might turn up in your change.

I'm heading to McD's right now, then next door to Publix, so I'll be checking my change :)

I'm sitting in McDonald's right now and in my change was a '64 nickel and a '65 quarter. Coin gods just teasing me today...

Always nice to get something like that in change. I might add that on 45-D 5c, indeed expand that to any Wartime (35% Silver) Nickel always look closely at the mintmark to see if you have an RPM (Repunched Mintmark).

You would be surprised by how many War Nickels still circulate. My boyfriend manages a Burger King and looks for them for me. I've been getting one a week ever since he first bought me one asking why there was a giant P on the back. He found a 1913 wheat in fine condition today for me.

Great find! I've been wanting to find a nice silver quarter in my change, but sadly I haven't turned up any. They must be getting more scarce.
