Yep I gotta say although I'm new here I have learned so much in such a short time. It really is wonderful to have so many experienced collectors here willing to give their opinions on coins you can post. Since I don't have a LCS nearby, it seems to be a great alternative to get opinions on coins I'm not sure about.

The knowledge that exists on here is amazing...

However contrary to other posters ... that have now learned how to have more discerning tastes and make fewer errors.. I have to say I'm almost the opposite...

Right now there's a thread on 5 cent pieces.... I love 'em so much I want some... so I go and bid on a few that I have seen on some auction sites....

Then there's a token thread..... okay no prob.. except I end up picking up a load of 10 - 15 tokens...

I love seeing everyone's passion and what they're interested in.. and then of course I want to get a few myself... I end up all over the play... perhaps over paying.. but what ever!!

I have never enjoyed this hobby so much until I came here.... Thanks for making the journey a whole lot more fun !

Great people with a wealth of info. I collected most of my collection back while silver was still in circulation. So back in the hunt and have asked stupid questions and got answers.

Thanks to CFF members

Until I discovered this forum I had absolutely no idea that so many people shared my passion. I'm a young enthusiast at 16 years old, so it was really hard to find someone who shared an interest in a hobby common among the older people :].

Yes, it is very awesome and the people here are friendly and helpful. You won't find a better coin community than this one

CCF is great and helped get me back after being away from collecting for at least 25 years.

You might ask a foolish question (I've asked many) because of a lack of up to date knowledge,.. and you will quickly receive a thoughtful response.

I feel that it's best to specialize in only one area of collecting.. (let's say 1 or 5 cents),..In this way you're not overwhelmed by the vastness of trying to collect all over the board,..and then being too discouraged with this impossible task..

Hahahah Devlec... ironically I have been trying to specialize more into newfie coinage and 50 cent pieces.. but since your nickles thread... I just really wanted some nice lil fishscales.... here's hoping my bids hold up!

That's what I actually LOVE about this though... I never stop learning... and I get exposed to all the realms of coinage and paper money..

It sure is a lot better than the 'other' coin forum that used to be the 'big show' and at present is a mere shadow of its former self with only 2 regular posters.

Canadian Coin Reference Site.

It used to be _the_ site for Canadian collectors... without going into details, let's just say that the main collector base there had a falling out with the webmaster... so we (the collectors) left. Some of us ended up here, the Vicky large cent crowd headed over to Canadian Copper Coin, a few of us got on Coin Talk, and a lot of former CCRS folks (the ones we used to drink beers with at Torex, which we no longer attend), now participate on a private web forum...
