jmkendall Pillar of the Community United States 1590 Posts	Posted 11/20/2016 11:29 pm Your 1940-S looks like an early die state. I think you are right and it was very early in production. I disagree with the reverse die being changed. The reverse die shows that the spacing is off a bit, yet detail like the bowtie and ear on Lincoln as well as other details seen only on early die states clearly shows. If this had been a late die stage then Die Deterioration would have left much softer detail Report this Post to the Staff

This one was a little difficult to photo because of the toning but it came out pretty good. The rpm is a little difficult to see in the pics but looks good in hand. Report this Post to the Staff
