I had my coins in the 20th Century display for at least 10 years. All the nice white uncirculated coins I had in there toned. Most were ugly to me, although one or two coins had that look that some people like. Only on the one side though...
I need to find something inert that is thinner than a pane of glass though. I don't want to have it force the extra thickness into this new frame. It is nice and tight, and the parts that are there right now barely fit. My 20th Century display wasn't this tight the day I bought it...

Oh, for this one, I was thinking that isolating the coins from the paper with "Kointainers" might be the way to go.
Both sides of the Kointainer might not fit in the holes, just from the added little bit of diameter, however, I was thinking of just using the back side of the container, so very little is added to the diameter of the coin. It's only the back of the coin that needs isolated anyway...

Put a sheet of acetate on the back side. Same material used in Dansco albums.

jbuck: Where can I get that?
It's the clear plastic you are referring to, correct? How do I know what I buy is totally free of PVC and other harmful (to coins) chemicals?
Thanks for the idea. I had thought of it (using Dansco slides), but didn't have any to spare

I think I have seen it at Michaels or another craft store.
As long as it is acetate or a rigid plastic it should be fine. The soft/pliable PVC is the bad stuff.

I just bought some new Dansco's to replace some of mine that are falling apart, or have been written in that I bought used and cheap. I have been throwing away the slides but if you want I can save some and mail them to you. Is there a way you can contact me if you want me to mail some privately? I am new here.

Thanks for the offer! I realized this afternoon that I have to replace some pages in my ASE album, so I'll soon have some to spare. Thanks again!
