Yes. I found one this weekend. But I don't think it was a 2014.

Even though it's giving me the "eye" that's a cool clash.

Thanks fioti! I did a quick search as I was curious about what a clash like this one would bring. I'm very happy that you posted your question (and subsequently the link); timing couldn't have been any better. I spotted it CRHing the other day, but typical to my practice, set it aside to ID later. After seeing your post, I started to get a little excited but had to wait to get back from work to check the date. My clash is just slightly lighter than the specimen at Maddie but has the same registration, so I think it's a match.

I believe it may go up in value, now that it's getting ad space. I, like others, enjoy a clash involving the face, but an eyeball?

I'm a fairly new coin collector, but I'm a brand new error coin hunter as of this summer when I found an off center penny in my change.
I would love to find one of these in my modern Jefferson nickel stash! I'm going to be busy tonight looking for this die clash. I'll let you know if I find something.
I thank all of you for posting this excellent information to help me in my newest endeavor, searching for error coins.

nice observation. It seems this has been coincidental the whole time!

Amy - welcome to the mix here at CCF! As you can see we are a fun bunch but serious too. I hope you have fun error collecting and wish you luck finding a similar clash. Don't forget to post a pic of your offcenter cent.

Thank you, I'm glad I found my way here! I will get a picture of my off-center penny. When I post it should I start a new topic, or post it here?

I didn't find any "Eye of Monticello" nickels in my stash last night. I will be keeping an 'eye' out for one of them though. Hehe.

Hi Amy - great question. As a past moderator in another forum, my advice would be to keep a thread on topic. Normally it means if what you have to share is or is closely related to the topic, then you are on topic. If not, starting a new topic or doing a search to find a thread to add to is the more appropriate approach.

As a newbie, you should probably familiarize yourself with the guidance and rules here. I also suggest reading the sticky notes (you'll see these attached to various forums you visit; e.g. modern coins/currency, classic coins/currency, errors/varieties). Many good tips can be found there and expanded discussion on common topics. Using a Search or an Advanced Search here will also help you to find topics/examples you may be researching or looking for.

And you can always post a moderator here with a question: they are quick to respond (usually get more than 2 responses to a single query). Folks here are very willing to help you along the learning curve to help you enjoy the forums and the hobby alike.
