1877-1879 particularly the silver half dollar and dollar pattern coins, and the goldioid Stellas of 1879.

1909 had to be exciting- the beautiful new gold coins were just a couple years old and the Lincoln Cent was introduced. Imaging going back in time and saving 1909-s Indian and Lincoln cents as well as 1909-s-vdb!

Of course you would choose 1853! I would be shocked if you did not.

Quote: I would be shocked if you did not. As would I! But my year, tough choice between 1909, 1921, and 1916, but I would like to go with 1909, just because of how much I love the early Lincolns.

Noone has mentioned this one yet. 1878 because of all the Morgan varieties and it includes the last year of the Trade dollar and 20c piece.

1793, 1794 or 1873 (including all the open and closed varieties) Harry X Boosel (AKA Mr. 1873) made the 1873 research famous with his book 1873 - 1873. I'm still looking for a copy and have it listed in my wants page here at CCF, I do have a photocopy of it though, and there are so many 1873 varieties it makes my head spin! 1969.
There are lots of interesting coins and all with very low survival rates.
It was a very historical year with the first lunar landing and computers beginning to really come into their own.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.
