Thanks Guys! The seller seems very legit, but as many coins as I have looked at on ebay I have never seen what looked like a pink slab. I appreciate your responses.

But remember, the pinkish cast applies to EVERYTHING including the coin, which is also too pink. This is just a quick hack-job using Paint.Net autolevel, but ... some cause for concern: It's still not right, but the label color is closer... makes me wonder how dark the coin will be in-hand

Image needs to be done with a dark, non-reflective background. The reflection from the white background results in bad camera settings. You want the camera to see the coin as the brightest object, not the background.

If this is on ebay, I'd worry a bit. Nothing to loose by just not buying.

Thanks again guys. I truly appreciate your time and expertise. $900 is a lot for me to bid on a coin sight unseen with no returns (since it is slabbed) and I don't want to make a $900 mistake. Here is the auction link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1816-Large-...em2a482d979b

Still not perfect, but a little more accurate. It's probably a bit darker in hand.

Could be a scan also. They come out pink sometimes.

It's 100% certainly a scan.

I have a little trouble based on that photo, to call this coin MS.

That sure looks like wear around the eye and on the cheek. And what's going on with the "RTY"?
I find it pretty hard to believe that it's MS.

The slab # checks out at PCGS...was hoping for a photo. But yea, it looks over graded. The scans are really good though. I can't get a scan to come out anywhere close to that good. Might email the seller just to see what scanner he uses

I have a really good scanner myself, an Epson Expression Artist. It has the transparency top and can focus adjust to accommodate film strips, so I can actually focus above the platen of glass. It natively scans at 1600x3200 dpi, a 35mm slide can be as large as 1GB or more if I want (not that there is any need or that size scan). But yes, some scanners are really, really good at high resolution 3D objects. I still prefer a good photograph though.
