Maybe one grade over, but I'm happy with a low VF for it. So you just turned $1.20 into $3000. Nice.

It'll cost you $3000 for a slabbed VF25 at Heritage. The seller won't get all of it, but that's what buyers are paying.

Nice score! Congrats! My research through Heritage puts this coin somewhere around $350-400.

Late to the party, but VF looks like an OK grade to me. The only obvious "problem" is the stain at Liberty's mouth but if it's just dirt or a toning spot I guess it gets a pass. Neverthess, congratulations on a sweet score!

Reminds me of a seller at a local flea market some time back. He used to have bins full of coins on his table with a sign, any coin for $1. I used to get handfuls of Mercury dimes from him and he would drop the price even more for buying many. In those piles I also found a 42/41, 21, 26S and many others. Due to him I started many multiple sets of those. Most were in really great shape. Of course and unfortunately he sort of vanished. That is one of the problems with a flea market. People come and go and no one usually knows where or why or how.

That's a great find. I would love to get a find like that! I just started collecting and the Mercury dime is one of my favorites.
