It's a nice looking set. I only got one should have gotten two but I at least got one. Who knows what will happen down the line. Just got it yesterday.

@SA4H, regardless of the novelty and ridiculous dollars/coin ratio of this set, it's sold out in the past two years.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to purchase the 2014 LESP set but I did. I got it in the mail about a week ago. Not sure if the set/box is supposed to be 'sealed' - that is my question : When I opened the mailer I found the set in it's black box. There was plastic wrap around the hard plastic display case but the plastic wrap was not fully around the box as to seal it. It could be opened even with the plastic wrap around it. Is this correct or had the box been 'unsealed' ? I am not thrilled with the obverse of the quarters - not what I consider good definition in the hair. Any cause for concern?

@johnjkedel, mine should show up today. I'll let you know how the packaging looks when it arrives.
If it's anything like last year's LESP set, that plastic wrap was just to protect the hard plastic case from scratches in transit, not to seal it, and should be removed for display. Other sets I've gotten have come in a loose plastic bag as well that contain the whole OGP but can be slid in and out of easily.
Again, I'll let you know when mine shows.

Well, I received mine today. And as I mentioned earlier, the packaging really doesn't seem that much different than the 2013. In fact, it looks nearly identical. I'm not sure what was changed. If you're curious and have lots of time and bandwidth on your hands, you can check out all the pics I took of the OGP here: https://goccf.com/t/198653&whichpage=7, but below are 3 pertinent ones. protective wrap around the OGP that johnjkedel mentioned. It's just a padded wrap to protect your over-priced set in shipping so you don't send it back for dinged corners. Set removed from slip cover and box (but with protective cling still in place), opened up: For comparison, the 2013 set (sorry, older pic from when file size limit was smaller): Again, I can see little if any difference in packaging so I'm not sure what they changed up and why it took so long. If anything the insert inside the plastic case is looser than the 2013 and slides around more. The coins themselves look fine, no complaints there.

I am glad you finally got yours. It still does not interest me personally, but it is a nice looking set.

Yeah, I realize it's not for everyone. It's a nice set but very pricey for what is included.

Quote: It's a nice set but very pricey for what is included. Price is the main thing. I might convince myself to get this set if it were much cheaper; that is, if I can also convince myself to collect proof ASE (I do not). It would solve the duplicates problem (cent, nickel, dollars) from ordering both the proof and clad proof sets.

The price difference is pretty dramatic now. I think in 2012 this set was only $10 more, but both the silver proof set and the ASE proof were $10 more each. The mint really should have dropped the price of this set more, but in a way I'm glad they didn't. Release sales were pretty much the same as last year. I think ongoing sales will be slower this year.

Celtic Knot... can the lens case on the '14 set be opened easily? That was my biggest complaint with the 2013 set... the integrity of the coins can always be questioned when the lens cover can be removed easily.

Thanks CelticKnot for sharing. It's a nice looking set to display but it will be at the bottom of my list of priority for coins to be purchase at the US Mint. I need to get up to date with all other sets/coins first, including the ATB 5oz.
