Shame shame shame shame.... equities are still in a long term uptrend and this week attempted to break out higher after multi-month consolidation and trying to move higher... I sure hope you dont have major losses down the road.
the PM is dead money at best and should it break down even more from here, you will be turning negative numbers for a while.
I hate to say this and I feel very bad but I feel your strategy and thinking, which is not very sound, is going to have some very painful and disastrous results that will come along with deep regret and disappointment in PMs....
hope it works out for you...

I plan to keep buying myself as the price in PM is just a beat down for some big banks like JP Morgan which is buying all the silver they can get there hands on and I think is the one of the reason for falling prices so JP Morgan can use the stronger dollar to buy more silver up. the US Mint say ASE are red hot and I would think supply and demand will come back into play soon. That's a very bold move you had made JDRMCB! IF you don't have a mortgage or other major credit payments, and decided to go 75-90+% PM and other tangible assets, then its just a matter of waiting? How long?

We have yet to understand everything silver has to offer us going forward as it's the key to solar power ..
A soft, white, lustrous transition metal, it possesses the highest electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and reflectivity of any metal.
In 2014 researchers invented a mirror-like panel that, when mounted on a building, acts like an air conditioner.[30] The mirror is built from several layers of wafer-thin materials. The first layer is silver, the most reflective substance on Earth. On top of this are alternating layers of silicon dioxide and hafnium oxide. These layers improve the reflectivity, but also turn the mirror into a thermal radiator.

PM's are a lot like a storm shelter; both offer safety in turbulent times. But you can't stay in the shelter forever.

I just go 1 oz. gold and 100 oz. silver per year, slow but steady wins the race, and hold some cash back in case PM's crash down in a recessionary era. No telling what the next recession might be like but we are as addicted to recessions as we are debt. With so many people investing in PM's (be it fear, general stacking, preppers, investors, collectors, commodity market gonna crash), allot could hit the street all at one time if the conditions were right. I have moved into numismatic and 90% a little bit more than I used to as well, as in pre 33 gold, and thinking diversification is good, never know we could go through another melt period as well, who knows how much of what got melted this last time.

For the right price, purchasing numismatic gold and silver over ordinary bullion is almost always a very smart move. Numismatic value is pretty much the ONLY safety net we stackers can hope to find in a notoriously unpredictable PM market.

So, what you are saying is that if SHTF, or if there is a dollar crash, numismatic gold and silver will retain numismatic value?

I intend to agree with that statement.

In a SHTF scenario, PM's won't do you much good. Canned beans and bullets are what you will want. PM's will have their worth after things normalize and the rebuilding process starts. PM's are financial insurance, nothing else. Numismatics are great when everything is stable but not in times of financial crisis.

It's been my observation that in general, the numismatic value of most PM coins have always surpassed their intrinsic value by at least 7%.
Granted in a full blown SHTF scenario, one would hope to have enough generic PM's on hand to sufficiently support their family until the economy re-stabilizes to refrain from having to spend an 1893-S MS Morgan on groceries!
Without a doubt, numismatic value of PM coins is a great hedge on your investment in the "here and now"', and further, it's my belief that after a global SHTF scenario occurs and the world reverts beck to a monetary system based on PM's, as it has done time and time again, it will inevitably lead to the loss of a great number of coins with high numismatic value to the melting pots to in order to facilitate a new unified currency.
Thus, greatly reducing the census numbers of all PM coins with numismatic value, across the board, once the economy gradually begins to stabilize.
And for those that are able to weather the storm, and successfully retain their PM coins that possess greater numismatic vs. intrinsic value, will most certainly be well rewarded for their ability to do so!
