Yes, we communicated with a dozen or so e-mails over the years
and also by land-line (telephone). I frequently get updates of
his new contacts on something like face-book. I delete these as
I do not even text messages on my cell phone. Bring back the
rotary dialer. It has been a couple of years since our last
contact.

Doug, correct me if I'm wrong here please. Your effort's, finding's, attribution's of knowledge via a vast amount of time conducting research to "benefit" the collecting community. Fell to plagiarism, in the hands of this Dr. Coil. Is that what I am getting out of your words said in this thread?

I would rather believe we were both working independently and simulteanously
of the same matter. Similar to this forum, I readily avail my expertise
when ever needed. I answered many of Dr. Coil's questions and he presented
his work to Charlton. During that time I was working full time and had my
material nearly complete. And during that time I was mainly working on the
St. Georges by Courteau variety. Once the new Charlton was published with his
work I ceased my work on the cross-referencing subject. Yes, a little thanks
would be nice, but my primary concern was to have this material available
to the numismatic community. I do not begrudge Dr. Coil and I am thankful
that the work was done. That was merely a project that he finished before
I did. I was involved in more pressing matters and I am thankful for having
been of some help in getting it done.

ty for your reply Doug, it would have been nice to have had your efforts also expressed as I'm sure he would have not been able to submit his completion without your effort's! Ty for sharing your knowledge here, you have personally helped me with a couple of tokens that I knew nothing about. Cheers.

Doug: Having met you a few times at Torex or Expo (the last you rode your bike up from Florida I believe), I feel for you buddy. Dr Coil (does he really exist or is that an alias since I'm somewhat familiar with your sense of humor) sounds alot like someone that we both know that took info and photos off the old CCRS site and published it all for financial gain. It's funny that after 40 years collecting Canadian Cents, I'd never heard the name before. Over the years, I've always directed any token questions I've gotten on sites to you as the font of knowledge and info that you can take to the bank. I hope to see you again sometime in the future.
