Slur - sounds like he is a self- grader. Is there more knowledge you could share?

Franklins are a tough series. Although Neither coin has excellent eye appeal to me, that does not mean the technical grade is not correct. Also with the FBL craze, some dealers are selling 90% full bell lined coins at a premium (sometimes significant). This is particularly true of any 53s and 50d (in ms65 for the 50d). Just my thoughts

I did mean a tough series to grade without the coin in hand on the weakly struck coins.

Fromms - do you find Franklins hard to photograph - e.g. bright white coins often look blemished or toned in photos?

Thanks very much Slur - very interesting. The president appears to be between 17 and 19 years old.

Franklins do not flatter themselves in photos. Some great photographers can bring out more than most

Ha! I questioned this guy on how he has the audacity to charge such outstanding premiums on coins that aren't even FBL . He had a couple of Mercury dimes I was looking at and they had a huge premium on them because he put a 90% fbl sticker on them. I told him he is a scam and I would be letting the coin community know about his doings.

I'm not sure but I believe the slab is a fake.

He sold the 1953 MS65 on January 26th for $236 361172420826Now it's listed with a BIN of $3,600. Sleazy marketing/sales tactics must be why Alan Hager is so despised by the numismatic community.

they are not fake, but they are also not FBL either and not worth anywhere near the asking prices...53-S FBL Franklins are pretty scarce

keep your distance from this guy. I'm not sure if it's the coins or the slabs .but they just don't look right. and not FBL.
