I to am glad that this program raises interest in numismatics. However, the State Quarters don't interest me at all. I thought about getting into them but I couldn't get excited. Part of my love for the hobby revolves around the history of the coins (I love anything with an O) and to me the State Quarters themselves don't have any history. Of course they have a place in the history of the mint but I just can not imagine them ever being important to me.

I started collecting coins in 1999 because of the State Quarters. I still put one P quarter in my son's map every time they come out. I also put one P&D in my album, one D in each of two folders I have, and one P and D in 2x2 flips in a binder. I also buy clad and silver proof 5 quarter sets. I take the quarters out of the complete proof sets for albums. This is mostly just keeping up with the issues and not State Quarter specific. I don't own a single roll of them.

I recently got interested in the State Quarters. I decided that sense these are modern coins, and are not going worth anything
in the near (or far) future. I would gather one of each from circulation. It took me about 3 months to get them from pocket change. I put them in the 1.5 x 1.5 inch cardboard holders in a binder. I add the new ones as I find them. I am not concerned about mint marks on this set as I am doing it for my modern type collection.

I am collecting them as a roll set, was buying them from the mint on subscription basis until I found out there is no difference between mint rolls and bank rolls except price, now just get them from the bank (D rolls) and buy the P rolls on open market or trade a D for a P roll..

true they have no history..yet...may never be a highly sought after collectible, but not everyone can afford to put together a BU set of Morgan dollars or Washington quarters..

I just started collecting State Quarters. I was going to fill my album with circulated quarters but I came across this BU set on ebay & just received it today:

(The seller also sells individual sets of P or D mints. Also, most sets available on ebay don't include the newest release, Wyoming, but this seller does include it.)

COMPLETE SET State Quarters - P & D MINT - 88 BU COINS
INCLUDES THE LATEST RELEASED QUARTER *WYOMING*
$45 + shipping (9.95)

I'm very pleased.

My daughter and I both collect the State Quarters. She has a large plastic map of the US with indents for the quarters. I have an album with spots for both mint marks. We both collect only circulated coins. Maybe in the future we can upgrade, but money wise, circulated is all we can afford.

Have not seen any Wyoming yet.

I collect circulated quarters (I get new ones out of rolls if I can) for folders (both P&D) and have been trying to collect rolls. Mostly I only have P rolls, but some D. I also have the mint and proof sets from each year, but not the quarter only sets.

P.S. We started getting Wyoming here last week but not all the banks have had them yet.

I have a "whitman" type folder circulated set I fill from change.

But what I am doing is filling 2 dansco albums for the future. One will be with quarters from mint sets. All the P's & D's will be there. #7143

The second one will be a single per State Quarter Dansco with only silver proof quarters. ( Can you see these colorful beauties 25 yrs from now ) #7146

I am wondering if it would also be wise to do a regular proof Dansco, but have not started it yet...

Mostly doing it so the kids will have pristine sets of them in later years...

I've been collecting the State Quarters from circulation since the program started in 1999.

I am up to date with my P mint quarters. I still have a few holes in my D mint album.

I do not collect the rolls, It becomes too costly.

Acid,

I can spare a Colorado P if you need, but it will cost ya, mwahahahah (evil laugh). I could use a Wisconsin, Washington, Idaho, or Wyoming (D mint). Send me an email with your address if you want one.

I am not a big fan of those State Quarters but due to a phobia of collecting all coins, I do collect those. I use Blank Whitman Classic Albums for them and have added enough pages in a few of them for all the State Quarters. Nice thing about those Albums. You can add as many pages as will fit, buy the gold transfer letter and numbering and make a nice looking album.

I'm not terribly interested in the State Quarters but I bought my kids a folder that holds one of each and they've been adding to it as they find them. It's a bit of a competition between them to see who can get the next one anymore and hopefully I'll be able to build on this and get them sucked in.

The mint has a schedule on their site with the release dates of everything they make, including the State Quarters if anyone is interested. Dunno what the addy is right off hand but if you do a little fishing I'm sure you could find it.

I try to get a couple of State Quarter rolls from the bank as each new one is issued. Just got two Wyoming quarters in change during lunch. Kind of disappointed in their design, the bucking bronc on the reverse is perfectly flat like a silhouette. I think it should have some sculpting like the buffaloes on other State Quarters.
