I did a bit of checking on this one and from reports of a couple of auctions they were in, the wording was accompanied with the word (Rare). I know that word is overused in many cases but it seems so in this case. The mintage for the year seems to be 200,000, now I wonder if there was an overlap of some 1880's put into those 1882 stats?!

That's funny, the one in my collection is invisible too! I expect it was a copy error. All the other denominations exist for 1882 as per Charlton and http://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces3958.html

As far as I know, there were no 1882 Newf one cent coins. 1880 and the 1885. Griffin also does not list one. It's not the first time that C and Canada site has been wrong. I've sent them at least 8-9 corrections for their listings.

I'll have to check more to find the right link

On the Calgary coins website they show that the 1882H was never struck.

Pretty hard to take a picture of a coin that probably doesn't exist.
I think C&C might have made a mistake. Look under their ebay sales and they don't list any NFLD penny between
1880 & 1885.
Even that most reliable source of information, Wilkpedia does not list one under "NFLD penny mintage".
I cannot find any other source of information that has one listed.

Jimmy: I hope that you were being sarcastic when you mentioned Wikipedia and reliable in the same sentence. That's like saying that Leno, Letterman, Bill Mahr or Fox News as being true.

Of course I was.
I was trying more for humour but I guess it came across
as sarcasm.

I must have been wrong in what I found about the 1882H, I've looked extensively to find where I read that in an auction report and can't find it anywhere. My mistake Shafta, sorry bout that.

No problem MD, I didn't think there was one anyway..
I guess it was a printing error on the C & C site, it just looked funny when I seen it the prices were extremely high too.
