Is the coin bent? It looks like it in the last image. The coin looks partly cleaned.

Hi Coop, The coin has not been cleaned, it came in a box of pennies from bank. There is a dent where the line is, and different thickness in rim.

It does look darker in and around the devices and lighter in the flat fields I think that's why coop says it was cleaned-may have been before u got it

I'm not sure what happened to it. With the pictures being small makes it hard to see.
I agree that the coin looks like some cleaning or something may have been done to it causing the lighter field.

I can email photos from phone and they will easily show more detail, as you can enlarge on phone

Cleaning of the 19th century coins happened a lot. At one time they cleaned all the coins they collected. The dark area might be a stain or an attempt to remove the blackness that we see on the reverse.

looking at the reverse with a loupe, it just looks worn from being very old and circulated.

My opinion as a construction guy is that the coin was used as a spacer between objects and that will explain the ridge the bent and the difference in toning
