I thought so to KenKat. I have a serious problem when I find a CBQ with good eye appeal. I just can't say no!

Congrats on piecing together such a well-matched set! This series is underrated.
As a longtime collector of counterstamped coins, I have but a few of the early quarters that are stamped. However, I have about three dozen Spanish two real pieces that were stamped by U.S. merchants, circa 1840-50's. This disparity suggests to me that the need for quarters, two-bit pieces, during these early years was largely met by the then circulating Spanish coins.

great collection. I love the mid-level range of VF coins and when you locate examples such as yours its all the better to drool over. Congrats.

really incredible coins connor. Capped Bust Coinage, for me, in the dimes and quarters are just super drool worthy.

Connor - Thanks for sharing.
Which date[s] did you find the toughest to locate ?
I have always thought the 1832 was scarce - and saved all I could locate. I posted my best one earlier - MS 64.
I also soon realized that the 1837 was also difficult.
Have you ever given any thought doing a Variety collection ?
In VF -XF grade they are available for reasonable money.
Good luck with the collection - you have a good eye.

Elbesaar....I think you have it figured out. As far as the small diameter CBQ's go in my opinion the 1832 and 1837 are the most difficult to locate that are problem free and have decent eye appeal. I always pick these dates up when I find them at a decent price. Several on ebay are just simply priced too high. My guess would be that the 32's and 37's just circulated more b/c neither of these two have the lowest mintage numbers in the series. I think it would be quite a challenge to collect by variety and costly to obtain some of the rarer varieties. Also, your 32 MS64 is one of the nicest looking CBQ's I have ever seen!

Just wanted to bring this thread back to life since I have added a few more large diameter CBQ's. I have posted most of these in the grading section but figured I would take a picture of them all together for this thread. I keep adding one when I can slowly but surely!
