Gxseries ... I was only kidding about the ones for $2.00 they were fakes from China.
I like the looks of the one you have posted.
I agree there will be a few of these coins that will be harder to find and more expensive. I know I have a small stack of copper (bronze) and silver Japanese coins somewhere, I hope I can fill a couple holes.
I do have the Mexican type album .. and the two album Canadian. So I thought this one would fit into my collection.

GR58 - I know what you mean When I bought mine, the album did come with a Trade dollar copy which I still own. I find Dansco's album really impressive despite made almost 50 years ago. I think I have a Fiji album and a New Guinea one. The New Guinea album can only be seen on one side. Not something I like but I bought it at a bargain. There is a type set album that I have been looking which is the Hong Kong album. Been looking for it for a few years but I missed three opportunities as they went for absurd money. Otherwise I might as well design my own album. Just need to find a manufacturer. I sent a PM about the link of the Japan Dansco album.

I found the japan type album through a friend that likes mostly older Foreign coins.
He mentioned it months ago ... Glad I finally followed up on getting it.

It could most likely be me GR58. I don't even remember when exactly I bought it but 2009 sounds about right. It's a really beautiful album once it's complete. Shame that it's no longer in production. I would even design and asked for it to be manufactured if I knew how to.
The condition of the album however is not the best - some wear and tear. In fact, I had to glue parts of the album when I first got it.
If you muck around at my site, you'll find it.

I didn't even know Dansco made one of these! Do you know how old the album is? My 7070 album looks similar to yours and it is copyright 1965. (they have the same color pages and the texture of the pages looks similar to mine).

I've got a counterfeit Japanese Trade dollar — it was given to me by the local Japanese Consul, who belongs to my coin club. He has a whole bag of them!

I have two albums that I bought in the eighties, but were make in the late seventies. They have that same look. One thing about them is that the model numbers on the spine have serifs, whereas all the newer albums are sans serif.

I look at another album like this online. The Last coin in that album was dated 1970.
The last (newest) coin in my album is dated 1964. It does not have a slot for the coin dated 1970 that the album online has.
So my guess is that my album was made between 1965 and 1970.

Interesting.
I just realized mine has a hole for the 1970 Expo and yours don't!
For reference, I have a Fiji album and the cut off date on it is 1964 even though the series continued all the way to 1968.
That's it - will be spending more time on designing a newer Japan album.

There was one sold on Heritage last year. Just found it by coincidence while I was looking for something else. I nearly flipped when I saw the final price. This does not include 1870 yen and the Trade dollar coin. http://coins.ha.com/itm/japan/japan...3032-32434.s I didn't expect it to go close to 1000 dollars! Still in the middle of designing a new album. This I can assure you will be better than the original.
