Thanks Rackster. I've learned a lot in this thread. I'm also very happy to have found this coin. I've got it slated in my next shoot, just need a couple others for my file.

Here's a pic of the R and the rim under the lapel. I'm not too sure about the lapel.

I'm not seeing any "R" there.

It is a combination of the two classes
I can barely see something remaining in the upper loop of the R, so I guess it's late stage C ?

Oh, I understand what you're saying Coop. You're referring to Ken's coin having a combination of classes. That doesn't bode well for my coin. So mine is not a DD. Any idea what it is?

I feel it is not. The shape is not the same. Your coin looks like it might be Machine Doubling. Note the west side of the outer ear area? It shouldn't look like that. Also the lobe is not correct as well. 1997-LMC-DD-Ear?
Note the shape on the normal coin? Yours is shaped like that with a slight push on the lobe making it look interesting. On the DDO, it has the Arizona slope on the lobe and the doubled upper ear on the top. I'm just not seeing that on your coin.

Can you post another photo of the coin, this time with the light source coming from a different angle?

Thank you Coop. Cwb, I will do just that. I'll put it in with my next batch. My next batch hopefully contains what Coneca refers to as a 001 DDO profile on a 1965 Roosevelt. As near as I can tell Franklin is doubled. The Coneca listings describe it but offers no pics.

As per your request, cwb. Lighting sure makes a big difference.

Here is Coop's photo with your ear in the center for comparison:

Thanks cwb. Can someone tell me why four pictures of the same ear look different? Is it the angle of the light source or those funny "squares" in the viewfinder on my camera. Sometimes they are bigger or smaller or rectangular or square.

Note on the added image in the center. The overall shape is there, but because the MD it is reduced upwards.
