Assuming that the coin was struck at the RCM (why else would it be in this forum), that diameter is distinctly Canadian 25c, so the lesser weight means it is a 1968 silver 25c. Silver and copper have different densities (10.49g/cm3 for Silver and 8.96g/cm3 for Copper), the 80% and 50% coins should have either different weights, if volume remains equal. Doing the math, if an 80% Ag coin had a weight of 5.83g, it should have a volume of 0.5725 cm3; a 50% Ag coin with a volume of 0.5725cm3 should then have a weight of 5.57g.
