Very nice 1915! EZ 64BN with a shot at 65 if there is cartwheel luster under the brown. I would consider sending this in for grading, it's quite a valuable coin if original.

beard looks tooled

The master hub was...by the Mint! The hub lost a lot of detail since 1909 so they worked on it in 1915. Then, in 1916, a completely new hub was put in service.

Thanks for the info Thad. I was planning to put it in a flip marked "tooled"and sell it at the local flea market for $20. Glad I didn't!

I'll give you $30 for it and save you the trouble!

What you have there is a mint state EDS example!

The 1915 cent shows much more detail than the previous year of 1914.
That is a very nice coin!
I will say it is MS but with the rim dings I'm not sure where on the scale it would fit.

Nice find

I think this may be a proof, here is an image I found on http://www.pcgscoinfacts.com/Coin/D...3321?redir=t
it also appears to have been possibly cleaned long ago

Could be a proof, but I personally don't think it is.

noD's coin is a circulation strike which is very nice in mint state...

The coin that rage1398 is showing is a matte proof coin I believe and a very nice and expensive coin.

I'm not sure, we have a 1914 in ANACS graded MS-61BN which to us is a very nice coin.

Really big fan of this coin. I have a similar looking 1912. Looks right to me and I would give it MS-64 BN.

Before I read any of these comments, I thought immediately it's a proof.

And I'm staying at that. I'm very confident it's a proof.
