Another unusual recent pickup.
It's a Stirling imitation penny (Crockard type) by John II of Brabant, Brussels or Louvain.ca. 1296-1300
Obverse: +I DVX LIMBVRGIE; — Bust facing, wearing chaplet of roses.
Reverse: DVX BRA BAn TIE; — Long cross dividing beaded inner circle and legend
I think this is John II rather than John I because of the decoration (two pairs of small "x" either side of the initial "I") while John 1 appears to have annulets either side - but happy to be corrected. John II coins of this type doesn't seem to be on Numista. (John I coin is here -
