Congrats on your find. Even though it's a common date, they are not really very easy to find anymore, especially in the 30's and older. One wheat per 8 rolls of pennies is about what I'm averaging. They will likely have more value in the future than they do today, so I'm hanging on to all I find unless they are in poor condition.

Isn't a good feeling to find an old Wheat cent in change ? Too bad we can't find other denominations dated 1935 in change. NOT(CRH).

That coin certainly has had a long and useful life.
It's not valuable, but it is pretty fun to find. I started a similar thread about bicentennial quarters recently.

Wheaties were my first collection, and I still grin when I see one 'in the wild'! Great find!

It's been a while since I've got a wheatie in change. I have about 5 tubes of them from the good ole days. In the past I've even found Mercury dimes and Buffalo nickels. Not anymore though.

Cool. I'm seeing a lot of wheats in change lately. I've gotten two or three in the last week.

Nice find... I have been seeing quite a few older wheats lately while going through rolls of cents.. maybe a dump or just dumb luck...either way I see quite a few being found lately as well..good job!

I too think it's amazing that these little gems have yet to be scooped up so many years after their mint date.

Quote: Too bad we can't find other denominations dated 1935 in change. Well it wasn't that far back, but a couple weeks ago I got an AU 1940 nickel back in change from a vending machine.

Sort of makes me wonder where it was all this time.
